PromptPaste is local-first by design. This page explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and why.

1. Data We Collect
  • Account identifier (after sign-in).
  • Auth token handling for session access.
  • Entitlement/subscription status from the entitlement API.
  • Local app logs stored on device for diagnostics.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
  • No audio upload for transcription.
  • No cloud transcription of user speech.
  • No third-party analytics SDK telemetry.
3. Why Network Is Used

Network calls are used only for sign-in and entitlement validation (for example, token-based access checks).

4. Where Data Lives
  • Speech/audio processing is local on your machine.
  • Logs are stored locally on your device.
  • Desktop app auth tokens are stored on-device using Windows DPAPI (per-user encryption).
5. User Controls
  • Sign out/log out from the app.
  • Clear local logs from the desktop app settings/log panel.
  • Disable microphone access via Windows settings.
  • Push-to-talk hotkey can be configured or disabled in app settings.
